The most translated book in the world
Is the Holy Bible the most translated book in the world, as some have indicated? Or might it be the Koran, Qabbalah, Sutras, Aesop’s Fables or Hemmingway’s Old Man and the Sea?

What a facinating debate. I wonder if the bible will ever be translated directly from arameic to english. It’s a shame that arameic was not a written language when it was translated into Greek. I have heard from my linquistic friends that arameic to greek is the worst path possible. Arameic is a flowery descriptive language and greek a direct verb heavy language. I would love to see some key chapters localized directly from arameic to english. Shakespeare is one who could make English light and flowery, lets see how the beatitudes sound this way.
